Recently the Houston Heights Association worked with Imagination Woodworks to repair and replace some of the playground equipment at Donovan Park. The kids will find some of the worn and broken chain nets replaced with short climbing walls but they probably won’t notice the added fasteners and reinforcement to the structures.
Donovan playground has seen a lot of children since the volunteer community build back in 1996 and, despite continuous maintenance, is showing its age. The HHA will be bringing in Leathers & Associates, the original designers of the playground, to do a complete assessment of the equipment as the first step in laying out a plan to ensure the playground will continue to be a magnet for children for many years to come.
