As everyone knows, it is election season, and our neighborhood is gearing up for its own important vote! Five of the fifteen positions on the HHA Board of Directors will be filled by election over the next few weeks. Be sure to tune in to the virtual General Meeting on October 12th to see videos from each candidate discussing their qualifications. To help you pick the nominees you would like to see added to the Board in 2021, below are our candidate’s statements in the order they were received by the Election Committee, as well as short speeches from the candidates.

I’ve been a Heights resident since 2011, and a HHA board member for the past 7 years. I’ve chaired several major events and committees. It would be an honor to serve on the board for another 3 years and keep working towards the betterment of the neighborhood.
Joy Stapp | Watch Joy’s Speech
My name is Joy Stapp. I have been an active member of HHA for over thirty years, and I am currently Treasurer. 2020 has been difficult for many, including the Association. My experience and perspective will be useful as we face the future.

Serving on the Board has been a great honor. It would be a pleasure for me to serve another term. I have lived in the neighborhood and have been involved in the community for 14 years. I will continue to work to enhance our community.

My name is Katye Tipton and I live on Herkimer. I am a former city employee and, since moving here last year, I’ve been interested in getting more involved in the community. I spent my career in municipal government and I’d like to bring that experience to the HHA board.
