Please join us for our March 14 tour of Emma & Christian Meister‘s garden at 611 West 15th Street.

This delightful garden came to our attention on a bike ride last spring. 10 years ago, this was a plain Jane yard with grass and a couple of weed trees. Those were quickly replaced with natives–lots of salvia and grasses. 5 years ago Emma planted the bluebonnets and they have been going like gangbusters ever since. For the last couple of years, she has spread wildflower seeds starting in October and continuing into February. Their goal is to feed the local bees, birds, and butterflies which seem very happy. A side effect and benefit for us two-legged critters, the garden is very pretty.
