Field Trip to The Ground Up 

After the fascinating talk by Luis Chamorro and Mark Bowen this past October about their soils, mulches and composts at The Ground Up, we became enthused about seeing their production in action at their 9945 Windfern Road location, just off the Sam Houston tollway between 290 and 249.

We will be offering carpooling or you are welcome to caravan with us to the facility. We’ll be meeting at the Church at 1548 Heights parking lot on Heights Boulevard and E. 16th St and leaving at 9:30 AM to be at The Ground Up by 10AM.

The Ground Up asks that you please wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and a brightly colored top. Upon arrival there will be individual release of liability documents to sign. The Windfern location has uneven surfaces and mulch areas are soft and very uneven. In the event of heavy rains or dangerous driving conditions, we will reschedule the tour. If the weather looks questionable that morning, please check our website or Facebook page to see if the tour has been cancelled.
