Please join the Heights Garden Club for their Mother’s Day Field Trip on Sunday, May 12. The group will meet at 7:30 AM at 636 E. 12th Street to carpool and caravan. Each participant will need to pack a sack lunch. An ice chest will be provided, along with bottled water. You will need to RSVP to 713-868-4136 or cityart51@sbcglobal.net no later than Thursday, May 9. The rain date has been scheduled for Saturday, May 18.

The trip will take about 1 hour and 10 minutes to reach the first stop. We will visit 2 gardens in Brazoria, TX. The first stop is a private garden belonging to Loris Garrett. We will find approximately 1,300 varieties, some are hybridized by the owner, and art is everywhere in the gardens.

The second stop will be the Crainer’s Daylily Farm where we will find beauties collected from many well-known hybridizers, including those from the Crainers. We will find companion plantings, garden art and succulents. We plan to have our sack lunch at this location on the provided picnic tables under the Oak trees. Please visit www.crainersdaylilyfarm.com for more information.

Directions will be provided once you have RSVP’d. We hope you can join the fun!
