Encore 2021 Houston Heights Bicycle Rally & Scavenger Hunt

After a successful Bicycle Rally & Scavenger Hunt in May, we’re bringing back an encore version of this wildly popular event the first weekend of October. Registration is now open for the 15-mile and the 5-mile routes. Both routes will be different from the event held in May and will have new clues with different objects to find.

Early bird pricing will be extended through September 26. You must register by the 19th in order to PURCHASE a Bicycle Rally t-shirt!

The Rally & Scavenger Hunt is open to riders of all ages and designed as a casual, self-paced ride. Entrants can choose between a 15-mile course through the greater Heights neighborhoods, or a shorter 5-mile ride designed for kids and their adult companions. THIS IS NOT A RACE – ALL RIDERS MUST WEAR HELMETS.

Each entrant will be emailed a rally map and a scavenger hunt clue list the day before the event begins. The clue list describes a sight or object that can be seen along the rally course. The person(s) who finds the most mystery objects will be named the winner of the scavenger hunt. Completed scavenger hunt answer sheets should be placed in the mail slot at the Houston Heights Fire Station (107 W. 12th Street).

Due to COVID-19, all participants must plan to provide their own water and make accommodations to find restrooms on their own. In addition, we encourage ALL participants to follow the city, county, state, and federal guidelines for social distancing.

Schedule:

Saturday, October 2, 2021 through Sunday, October 3, 2021
8:00 am – Participants in the 15-mile route may start their ride any time after 8:00 am on any day of the event at any location along the route.
8:00 am – Participants in the 5-mile route may start their ride any time after 8:00 am on any day of the event at any location along the route.

Sunday, October 3, 2021
5:00 pm – Deadline for completing the rally for both routes. Completed answer sheets should be dropped in the mail slot at the Houston Heights Fire Station (107 W. 12th Street).

Tuesday, October 5, 2021
10:00 am – Winners announced!

Registration:

Early bird registration will be extended through Sunday, September 26 and the cost is $25 for the 15-mile route and $15 for the 5-mile route. You must register by the 19th in order to PURCHASE a Bicycle Rally t-shirt!

Prices will increase on Monday, September 27 to $30 and $20, respectively.

Online registration is now open and will close on Sunday, October 3 at noon.

Packet Delivery and Pickup:

The packet consists of a rally map and a scavenger hunt clue list. All registrants will receive an email with this information. If you do not have access to a printer, you can pick up copies on the front porch at 605 Omar Street, Houston, TX 77009.

Benefits:

The HHA is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, and proceeds from the Bicycle Rally go directly into the community for beautification, restoration, maintenance, and education.
