Monday, August 8th is your lucky day at the Fire Station with a feel-good mix of visiting furry friends and exciting things to do throughout the neighborhood and Houston, reminding us just how fortunate we are to call the Heights home.

At our August meeting, we’ll be joined by Cathy Podell of Houston Asiatown Tours, who has been working with the Asian Community for several years to help promote economic development through tourism by creating awareness of this rich cultural destination right in the City of Houston. Cathy’s company, Houston Asiatown Tours was created in 2021 to continue to educate, support, and bring people from Texas and beyond to explore Houston’s Asian Community.

Then, Chloe Hamilton and her team from the Houston Human Society will introduce us to some adorable, adoptable animals while sharing how the Houston Humane Society is working toward ending cruelty, abuse and the overpopulation of animals, while providing the highest quality of life to those brought to us for care.

Finally, Rusty Bienvenue, Executive Director of AIA Houston/Architecture Center Houston, which holds wildly popular events like the Annual Sandcastle Contest, the Gingerbread House Competition, and guided tours of Houston (especially in the Heights), will end the night updating us on all things AIA Houston.

As always, we’ll kick off the evening at 6:30 by mixing and mingling with our neighbors, featured guests, and HHA committees working on exciting “fun-raisers” and more. Don’t miss our August Community Meeting. They always make for a fun family outing and a great way to meet the neighbors.
