seal depicting the Heights bandstand) are registered trademarks of the Houston Heights Association, Inc. Membership is not required to attend public HHA events or board meetings.<\/p>\r\n          <h4>Member Rights<\/h4>\r\n          <ul>\r\n            <li>Voting rights at the annual membership meeting<\/li>\r\n            <li>Eligibility to run for the board of directors<\/li>\r\n            <li>Access to member-only content, the quarterly newsletter, and advance event ticketing<\/li>\r\n            <li>Representation before the city on land use and neighborhood matters<\/li>\r\n          <\/ul>\r\n          <h4>Dues &amp; Renewal<\/h4>\r\n          <p>Annual dues are $30 per household. Membership runs the calendar year (January 1 \u2013 December 31). Dues may be paid online through the HHA store or by mail. The HHA does not prorate dues for partial-year memberships.<\/p>\r\n          <p>Business memberships are available at a separate rate and include a listing in the HHA Business Directory and promotional opportunities through HHA channels.<\/p>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n\r\n        <div class=\"policy-block\" id=\"property-use\">\r\n          <div class=\"policy-block__tag\">Properties<\/div>\r\n          <h2 class=\"policy-block__title\">Property Use Policy<\/h2>\r\n          <p>HHA properties \u2014 including the Historic Houston Heights Fire Station, Marmion Park, and Donovan Park \u2014 are available for rental by members and the general public subject to availability and the following conditions.<\/p>\r\n          <h4>Rental Requirements<\/h4>\r\n          <ul>\r\n            <li>Advance reservation required for all private events<\/li>\r\n            <li>A signed rental agreement and deposit required to confirm booking<\/li>\r\n            <li>Renter is responsible for leaving the property in the condition it was found<\/li>\r\n            <li>No amplified music after 10 pm at park locations<\/li>\r\n            <li>Alcohol is permitted at the Fire Station venue with appropriate permits; it is prohibited at park locations without prior HHA approval<\/li>\r\n          <\/ul>\r\n          <p>The HHA reserves the right to deny rental requests at its discretion. Rental proceeds support HHA programs and property maintenance.<\/p>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n\r\n        <div class=\"policy-block\" id=\"conflict-of-interest\">\r\n          <div class=\"policy-block__tag\">Governance<\/div>\r\n          <h2 class=\"policy-block__title\">Conflict of Interest Policy<\/h2>\r\n          <p>Board members and committee chairs are expected to act in the best interest of the Houston Heights Association and the neighborhood it serves. Any board member with a financial or personal interest in a matter before the board must disclose that interest and recuse themselves from the vote.<\/p>\r\n          <p>Conflicts of interest include, but are not limited to: personal financial gain from an HHA contract or transaction, family relationships with vendors or applicants, and outside employment that creates a competing loyalty.<\/p>\r\n          <p>Conflict of interest disclosures are documented in board meeting minutes. The HHA Secretary maintains a log of disclosed conflicts available for review upon request.<\/p>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n\r\n        <div class=\"policy-block\" id=\"records\">\r\n          <div class=\"policy-block__tag\">Privacy<\/div>\r\n          <h2 class=\"policy-block__title\">Records &amp; Privacy Policy<\/h2>\r\n          <p>The Houston Heights Association collects member information \u2014 including name, address, email, and payment data \u2014 solely for the purpose of administering membership, communicating with members, and processing transactions.<\/p>\r\n          <p>HHA does not sell, rent, or share member information with third parties for commercial purposes. Member contact information may be shared with HHA committee chairs and board members for official HHA business only.<\/p>\r\n          <h4>Email Communications<\/h4>\r\n          <p>Members who provide an email address will receive the HHA newsletter and event notifications. Members may opt out of email communications at any time by contacting <a href=\"mailto:info@houstonheights.org\" style=\"color:#188671;text-decoration:underline;text-underline-offset:3px\">info@houstonheights.org<\/a> or using the unsubscribe link in any HHA email.<\/p>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n\r\n        <div class=\"policy-block\" id=\"complaints\">\r\n          <div class=\"policy-block__tag\">Procedures<\/div>\r\n          <h2 class=\"policy-block__title\">Complaints &amp; Grievances<\/h2>\r\n          <p>Any member or community resident who has a complaint about HHA operations, board conduct, or policy may submit a written grievance to the HHA Board of Directors via <a href=\"mailto:info@houstonheights.org\" style=\"color:#188671;text-decoration:underline;text-underline-offset:3px\">info@houstonheights.org<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n          <p>The board president will acknowledge receipt within 14 days and present the matter to the full board at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
